Artist/Writer/Mother

Brittany Jacoby is a writer, artist and lover of all things "home" in Maryland. She is the author and illustrator of the children's book Upside Down and All Around: A Book for Kids About Covid-19

Her artwork has been showcased in art festivals, gallery strolls, and solo exhibitions. She has collaborated on projects ranging from comic book illustration to wedding stationary designs, and many individual commissions. Similar to her art, Brittany's poetry is deeply nostalgic, reflective and in worship of simple beauty. Her work, both writing and painting, is greatly influenced by nature and motherhood.

Brittany has worked in musical theater, marketing and advertising, academia and was the owner of a now retired Etsy shop where she sold her original designs on mugs, greeting cards and a variety of other home goods. In 2019 she completed a series of paintings under the project name of Softness/Strength. An exploration of traumas experienced by the female body in postpartum and an exercise in appreciating the scars, both literal and figurative. Brittany pays her bills as a Realtor in the DC Metro area with which she has been able to combine her love for creature comforts, nostalgia and design.
